Google+ for the blog!

I've done it!  I started a Google+ profile for myself and a Google+ page for this blog!  I don't know why I waited so long because it really wasn't that difficult. 

I followed the steps outlined in the What Can Google+ Do For You? series by Shasta from In The Old Road.   Thanks for this great series Shasta and for your passion for Google+!

After I set up both pages, I added a Google+ gadget to my blog.  I already had a +1 button and hopefully as I start using Google+ more I'll see more +1's on my posts. 

I'm going to link up to Shasta's Google+ Blog Hop.  She's co-hosting this hop with several other great blogs.



This blog hop will help me meet lots of bloggers on Google+ and add lots of people to my circles.  Hopefully bloggers will circle me back too :) 

I kind of sound like I know what I'm talking about don't I? :)  I'm still learning though... I know I will be making lots of changes as I get more proficient with Google+.

I will be sharing blog posts and organizing tips on the blog's Google+ page (like I do on the From Overwhelmed To Organized Facebook page).  As I see how each of these social communities interacts, I'm sure each one will take on it's own flavour.

  4. Okay I have been blogging for years. You sent a text from Igoogle asking to be friends. I am going to research all this - to tell you the truth I don't use it much. How did you find me on it? I am all full of questions. And I am used to the GFC button. I am going to read the other blog about why they are important. Thanks for your en lighting me.     1. Hi Sandie! Good to "meet" you :) I'm still fairly new to blogging overall but especially to Google+ so I'm learning as I go. I've found it really easy on G+ to increase my circles (easier than getting "likes" on Facebook). G+ recommends people I may know based on people already in my circles and since pretty much everyone I circled is a blogger (from the blog hop initially) then most of the names recommended are also bloggers. I've been circling those people and inviting them to do the same back so that's probably how I found you. I'm glad you're following and I will do the same. I look forward to getting to know you and if you have any G+ questions I'll do my best to answer them!

  7. Google+ is a foreign concept and a little scary to me. I am a Facebook girl all the way! (yet have to set up a "like" page for my blog though). Thank you for the link, I will definitely have to look into it!

    1. I was pretty scared to start G+ too Kristina. I put it off for awhile. I like FB and am working on building the FB page for my blog but I was sold on G+ mainly for how it improves Google search results. With a bit of work building up your "circles" it should help increase traffic for your blog. Good luck with it if you get started and let me know if you need any help (not that I'm an expert or anything!).
